A project funded by the Undergraduate Research Assistant Scheme has successfully completed the first stage of interdisciplinary work, between the Institute of Mediaeval Studies and the School of Computer Science. The long-term aim is to digitise and analyse early French bibles.

It is our pleasure to announce that the second meeting of the Summer of Data series will be held on Monday 17th July. This meeting will bring together researchers that use data science in genomics, digital humanities, population-based analysis, and data linkage.

The Summer of Data is a series of meetings to be held at the University of St Andrews in 2017. These meetings aim to bring together researchers and scholars from different disciplines with expertise in data science. The first meeting will focus on location-based data, and will take place on Monday 26th, June.
Funded PhD places in data science at the University of Edinburgh
The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Data Science is now inviting applications for 10 fully-funded PhD studentships at the University of Edinburgh, to start in September 2017. Students with a strong background in computer science, mathematics, physics, or engineering are particularly encouraged to apply.
